Sewing Machine Distribution: As
part of the 21st Yearly Anna-vastra Daana Satra, on 13 March, 40 needy
women were gifted pedestal sewing machines for self-employment. Based
on the applications received, volunteers had visited the houses of the
selected recipients to verify the details. Before receiving the machines at
the Ashram, the recipients had also to demonstrate their sewing skill.
During
the distribution, Poojya Swamiji exhorted all to develop
fondness not only for their family members but also for the
neighbours, as well as to the whole society. He explained
that those who have a heart which can embrace everyone, will
naturally gain mental peace and their personal sufferings
will surely get dissolved.
Programmes at Delhi: Poojya Swamiji, along with Nutan Swamiji and Maa
arrived in Delhi on 16 Mar. Guru-arcana was performed on 18 Mar at CIRD,
Vasundhara.
On
19 Mar, Poojya Swamiji addressed employees of Delhi Metro Rail Corporation at
Sri Sathya Sai International Centre on “Dexterity in Action is Yoga”.
A two-day Volunteers’ Meet was held at CIRD from 20 to 21 Mar. This was
followed by a 3-day interactive session (“Facing the Challenges in Daily
life”) from 22 to 24 Mar conducted by Poojya Swamiji at IETE Delton
Hall. Besides, regular classes were also held on Vivekachoodamani by Poojya
Swamiji and on Vedic Texts by Nutan Swamiji and Maa at CIRD.
In
addition to above discourses pushpa-samarpanam, prabhaata-rashmih, morning
and evening satsangs were also conducted daily at CIRD. Poojya Swamiji and Maa
will return to the Ashram on 04 Apr, and Nutan Swamiji is scheduled to return
by 18 Apr.
On 2 Feb, Poojya Swamiji addressed a group of students of Sri Shoolapani
Warrier, assembled at his house near Guruvayoor on the occasion of his shataabhishekam
(84th birthday).
Poojya
Swamiji explained the principles and values Vaanaprastha and Sannyaasa
aashramas uphold. These aashramas are extremely important for
personal fulfillment as well as societal well-being. Instead of being
complacent, householders should look forward to their latter part of life for
their contentment, he said.
Inauguration of Vyasa Bhavan: Vyasa Bhavan at Vyasa Tapovanam, the
Headquarters of Hind Navotthana Pratishtan, will be inaugurated on 02 May by
His Excellency Sri TN Chaturvedi, Governor of Karnataka. The Bhavan was
conceived as a fitting tribute to the great Vyasadeva, the compiler of Vedas,
Upanishads, and the author of Brahmasutra, Mahabharata, Sreemad Bhaagavatam
and other mythological texts.
The
7,500 sq ft meditation hall will host the statue of Vyasadeva, a rare mural (a
unique painting on the wall) forming the backdrop along with statues of other
revered saints of our land. The mural is said to be the largest in the whole
of South India.
Vyasa
Bhavan is meant to provide a vibrant link to the life of Vyasadeva and all the
excellences he represents. It is also to enable seekers and lovers of culture
to sit in contemplative silence and plunge into their own within, with a view
to discover and identify their inner resources and harness them to gain
excellence in domestic, professional and societal life.
