The front
block of
Prajnana Dhaama of the Ashram will be inaugurated
by Poojya Swamiji on April 18. The construction of the 3-storied building was
undertaken to replace Poojya Swamiji’s original cottage to facilitate his
greatly expanded mission of loka-sangraha. The construction had started in
2006, after Poojya Swamiji, Nutan Swamiji and Ma shifted to their new
accommodation in July 2005.
Programme in Kolkata: On their way to Jamshedpur,
Swamiji, Nutan Swamiji and Ma stayed in Kolkata for three days. It was
Swamiji’s ninth sojourn in succession at the residence of Sri Salil and Smt
Manjir Bhowmik, at Salt Lake City. Many devotees, old and new, had satsang
with him between February 11 & 13. Some of them came all the way from
Durgapur, Ranchi and Hyderabad. A discourse on the essence of Bhagavadgeeta
was held on 12th evening at Aikatan Auditorium (Salt Lake), where Swamiji made
a succinct exposition on the “phala-tyaga”
concept
(renunciation of the results of action – what it really means).
Swamiji also dwelt on the value restoration movement launched by FRNV and
emphasized the urgent need for citizens to take effective steps. Classes on
Upanishads and áreemad Bhagavatam were conducted by Swami Nirviseshananda
Tirtha and Ma Gurupriya respectively on the 12th and 13th morning. A satsang
was also held on the 3rd March evening, when Swamiji halted in Kolkata for a
day on his way back to the Ashram.

called ‘Vichintanavedi 2009 (A platform for Introspection)’ on
Vivekachoodamani, organized by Bhakta Mahila Trust, Thrissur, in the
Paramekkavu Agrashala. Addressing the assembly, he said Vivekachoodamani is
the last composition of the great Shankara, and thus contains the quintessence
of Shankara’s writings, presented in the form of Guru-sishya dialogue.
March 15. Poojya Swamiji inaugurated the ‘Free Eye Camp’
at Vyasa Tapovanam, Paralikad, organized by Vijayasree Eye Hospital, Thrissur.
About 90 patients were examined.

Shvaparaadha kshamapana stotram of Adi Shankara. The event was jointly
organized by Thrissur Chinmaya Mission and Ari Aachankulangara Siva Temple at
the spacious temple premises in Poothole. Stressing the importance of temples
for the society, Poojya Swamiji said that Hindu culture and civilization
survived mainly due to temples and ashrams. Swamiji also explained the
significance of Shvaparaadha kshamapana stotram
and the
necessity to cultivate vairagya together with bhakti.
Swami Gabheeranandaji Maharaj, Head of Chinmaya Mission, Thrissur, also
spoke highlighting the relevance of the text.
Poojya Swamiji’s 76th Jayanti will be observed on May 13
at the Ashram as well as at the Centres in Delhi, Malaysia and Jamshedpur. It
