4th
Sreemad Bhaagavata Tattva Sameeksha Satram, held in
Paralikad, ‘Naimishaaranyam’, Thrissur, from 24th
December 2005 concluded on 1st January 2006.
The
programme started daily at 5:00 am with Ganapaty Homa and Vedic recitation.
The talks, in which nearly forty speakers took part, were conducted from 9.00
am to 6.30 pm. Daily at 6.30 pm was the fervent Naama-sankeertana
pradakshina led by Poojya Swamiji. Meticulous arrangements were made to
serve breakfast, lunch, evening tea and dinner to all devotees and visitors.
During
the Satram, Poojya Swamiji gave six talks, including the inaugural and the
valedictory addresses. Nutan Swamiji gave a talk on “Integration of Bhakti
and Jñaana” and Maa on “The Growth & Enrichment of Devotion”.
The
conclusion of the 9-day event with the Vishnusahasranaama Saarvajanika
Yajna on 1st Jan ’06 was very sublime and memorable. More than five
thousand people attended the programme, about 1100 devotees performing the arcanaa
or havana.
Most
of the speakers felt the need to present the deeper message and values of
Sreemad Bhaagavatam, focussing on the relevance to present-day living.
Thousands of listeners (including 300 outstation devotees hosted in Paralikad)
and hundreds of volunteers, together with the faithful coverage given by the
leading newspapers have verily meant a significant Spirituo-cultural
awakening.
Geeta Tattva Sameeksha: Poojya
Swamiji’s 11th yearly Bhagavadgeeta Exposition (in Malayalam) at
Sreemoolasthaanam of Vadakkunaathan Temple, Thrissur, started on 22nd January
as scheduled. Kerala Assembly speaker Sri Therambil Ramakrishnan inaugurated
the event and Kochi Devasvam Board President Sri M.A. Krishnanunni presided
over the function.
