On
January 13, Poojya Swamiji inaugurated the 8th Annual Geeta
Sangamam held by Geeta Svadhyaya Samiti of Venkitang near
Enamavu (Thrissur District). Hundreds of people listened
with rapt attention, Swamiji’s explanation of the
Kurukshetra dialogue, in which Arjuna’s grief was redressed
by the message of the Soul. “Man considers himself to be
small and limited. But if he strives to delve with tenacity
into his inner personality, he will find that the
mind-intelligence sphere has amazing magnitude that far
excels the outside world,”
Poojya Swamiji said. It was a rare and greatly
inspiring occasion for the citizens there to hear such a profound exposition
on the might and magnitude of the inner human dimension.
On January 14, Poojya Swamiji gave a benedictory address in St. Antony’s High
School, Ammadam, near the Ashram, on the occasion of the school’s 69th
Anniversary. Highlighting the need to infuse our educational system with more
of characteral values, Poojya Swamiji said: “If the objective of education has
to be met, then mere imparting of material and professional knowledge is not
sufficient. It is indispensable that the students learn to strengthen their
mind and broaden their vision. Teachers must help the students imbibe and
display characteral and behavioural merits. For this, they should impart to
the students some knowledge about the mind, heart and intelligence. Then alone
the students can conduct themselves endearingly in the world.”
On January 20, Poojya Swamiji laid the foundation stone for the Senior
Citizens’ Home (Vaanaprastha Nilaya) being built by the Kerala Brahmana Sabha
(Thrissur), near Thiruvambady Temple. It was a very sublime occasion. Vedic
Pandits representing Rig, Yajus and Sama Vedas were present, along with
Bhaagavatites and others. Swamiji addressed them, emphasizing that a Braahmana
should rely on his own mind and heart for happiness, and not go after the
thrills of senses from the objects of the world. The great values and
tradition of our land enjoin the Braahmanas to be frugal in their living, and
contribute their resources for the welfare of the society at large.

eightday series of Malayalam discourses by Poojya Swamiji on Bhagavadgeeta –

Kerala High Court.
After lighting the lamp, Justice Ramachandran
Nair spoke about the relevance of Bhagavadgeeta as an ‘Administrative Gospel’
in the Indian context. He pointed out that the Text played a significant role
in shaping great personalities like Mahatma Gandhi and other prominent leaders
of the country. Sri Therambil Ramakrishnan, MLA, presided over the function,
Dr MK Balakrishnan Nair welcomed the guests and Prof TK Devanarayan gave the
vote of thanks. In the introductory talk about the uniqueness of the 13th
