The Ashram is preparing to host the many devotees and
seekers from India and abroad who will arrive to participate
in the observance of the holy Gurupoornima Day and 6-day
Retreat. The first Anna-Vastra Daana Satra distribution will
take place from the Ashram on 17th, the concluding day of
the Retreat, in which about 3,000 families will receive rice
packets, clothes and sweets.
A number of children attending the Cultural Heritage Class have
performed very well in their respective schools. More than 60% of them have
passed in first class and some with distinction (above 80%). On May 28, Poojya
Swamiji gifted them exercise books as well as school-uniforms specially
tailored for them. One of the girl students has qualified for admission in the
Navodaya School run by the Central Government. The Ashram helped her to meet
all the initial expenses.
On
June 18, Poojya Swamiji addressed the children attending the “Cultural
Heritage Class”. He told them that having passed the examinations with good
grades, they should now think of setting higher goals in life. In a lively
discussion the students sought Swamiji’s guidance on various issues like:
how to develop self-confidence; how to build the quality of perseverance; how
to face happiness and misery without undue elation or enervation; when left
alone, how to seek support and guidance from the right people without feeling
helpless; how to behave with the elders without hurting them; how to imbibe
virtues; etc. The function started with solo and choral chanting of many of
the żlokas the children have learnt in the Heritage Class.
Jnaana Yajna in Malaysia. Poojya Swamiji, along with Maa and Nutan
Swamiji, will visit Malaysia between August 19 and September 04. During the
visit, they will stay at CIRD-Malaysia located in Petaling Jaya, near Kuala
Lumpur. Program details: All discourses will be held in the evening
