Jñana Yajña in Malaysia: Poojya Swamiji, along with Nutan Swamiji and Ma, will visit Malaysia between Aug 19
and Sep 05. They will stay at Society for Inner Resources Development (SIRD), Petaling Jaya, near Kuala Lumpur.

Like last year, Poojya Swamiji’s programme will include a spiritual exposition called “Hindu Spiritual Meet 2”. The theme this year
is: “Imbuing your Mind with Confidence & Grandeur”. The programme will be held on Aug 22-23 at Shah’s Village Hotel, P.J. Poojya Swamiji
will deliver the inaugural address on “Hindu Concept of God & Man”. The attendees will be mostly in the age group of 18-45, with the
number of participants limited to 150. There also will be morning classes and satsangs at SIRD.

May 23: A group of 20 teenagers attended a half-day youth workshop in SIRD Malaysia. They were guided into and also taught the art of
“Goal-setting and self-awareness”. This was the third such workshop; the earlier ones were conducted in March and April. After the
first group spread their rich experience among their friends many Indian residents have requested to train their children also.
Similar workshops have been planned on June 20 and July 23. When SIRD was inaugurated in 2004, Poojya Swamiji had spoken of his
vision that the Institution must cater to the youth for development of their inner resources. Members of SIRD feel that Swamiji’s
sankalpa is steadily getting unfolded.
June 13-14: A team of members of SIRD-Malaysia conducted ‘road-shows’ in several interior towns of Malaysia,
specially inviting participants for the ‘Hindu Spiritual Meet 2’, scheduled on Aug 22-23, during Poojya Swamiji’s forthcoming visit.
The team successfully toured different parts of Malaysia, spreading the news of the spiritual exposition. Many other spiritual and
social organizations came forward to volunteer.
May 31: About 200 students of the Sunday Culture & Heritage Class were gifted notebooks at the Ashram’s Vijnana
Bhavan. Also, about 100 children were given school uniforms. On this occasion, Poojya Swamiji explained how cultivating values will
make the young minds good and strong, and their intelligence sharp and agile.
June 4: Poojya Swamiji was invited to the Sri Vanadurga Temple at Peringottukara,
Thrissur, in connection with the Pratistha Dinam (annual consecration day). Swamiji addressed the assembled devotees on devotion and
explained the importance and necessity of temples in upholding values in the society.
June 7: Speaking at the monthly Culture & Heritage Class at Vedavyasa Bhavan, Parlikad,
Poojya Swamiji explained that throughout our Dharma Shastras, the emphasis is more on societal service than on ceremonial rituals.
He said that according to our scriptures paropakara (helping others) is punya (meritorious deed) and para-pidana (harming others)
is papa (sinful).
June 18: In a decisive development in the history of the 50-year old Jnana Ashram,
Prof. PS Padmanabhan (fondly called as Rajan Master) received from Poojya Swamiji the necessary spiritual vow and discipline to
become a sadhaka. The simple and sublime function was held at the Prayer Hall of Jnana Ashram. Inmates and devotees of Jnana Ashram,
Vyasa Tapovanam and Narayanashrama Tapovanam, together with seekers and devotees from the village were present. Rajan Master now
becomes an additional Trustee of Jnana Ashram.
Gurupoornima & Retreat programmes: As announced earlier, Gurupoornima &
Retreat will be held between July 7 and 13. The Anna-Vastra Dana Satra distribution from the Ashram will be on July 13, the
concluding day of the Retreat.
