Poojya Swamiji was
invited to address the students and devotees at the Sri Ramakrishna Math in
Thrissur on the occasion of Vivekananda Jayanti on 1st February.
Swamiji
advised the youngsters to imbibe the qualities of fearlessness and
straightforwardness personified in Swami Vivekananda even as a boy. Swamiji
said that industry, fearlessness, intelligence, and application are invaluable
assets to be cultivated and possessed by every student aspiring to excel.
Swamiji
recalled his early days of working life and spiritual pursuit under the
guidance of his Gurudev, Baba, in Kolkata. During this period he had read the
life and teachings of Swami Vivekananda and Sri Ramakrishna Dev. He said he
was inspired by Swami Vivekananda’s zeal for the uplift of India. Swamiji
said that he found a strong identity in Vivekananda’s teachings and ideals
to his (Swamiji’s) own thinking and realization.
On 26th January Swamiji
addressed a gathering of students and young persons attending the youth
programme organized by Swami Purnananda of Jñaanashram in the Annakshetra
hall in Paralikad, Thrissur. About 100 participants listened to Swamiji with
close attention during the hour-long talk titled Veekshana Vikaasam (Expansion
of Vision). Swamiji exhorted them to rise above petty considerations and
develop a wholesome and broad vision that will ultimately enable them to be
leaders in society. “I want you to be excellent in your field of work or
study. Your excellence should be such that employers rush in looking for your
talents.” – said Swamiji. The talk was followed by a very active Question
& Answer session with Swamiji.
The same day earlier,
Swamiji was in Engakkadu, Wadakancheri, to dedicate in a sublime function the
Balikkalpura Valiambalam constructed by the Veeranimangalam Sri Narasimhamurty
Temple Committee. During the function, Swamijii addressed the devotional
assembly enlightening them about how the Temple is in reality a Cultural
Education Centre, from where the general public imbibe the tenets of Dharmic
living and ideals. If the Temple Management neglects this cultural aspect
while managing the Temple, it will be a great dereliction of their duty,
resulting in grave consequences.
