Reconstruction of Road to Devi Temple:
On February 05, the southern pathway leading to the Aykunnu Pandavagiri Temple
on the hilltop was formally inaugurated at a public function. The road has
been metalled and tarred recently to a distance of about 400 metres, upto the
main entrance to the Temple.
Representatives
of various institutions from the panchayat attended the meeting held at the
foot of the holy Asvattha Tree, at the entrance of the road. Poojya Swamiji
inaugurated the ceremony and Poojya Purushothama Swamiji presided. Maa, Nutan
Swamiji and many other Sannyasins from Vyasa Tapovanam also attended the
function.
Swamiji, in
his inaugural address pointed out how a place of worship plays a fundamental
role in the life of people. The sole aim of a temple is to imbue mental
strength and discipline in the people, leading to greater stability,
creativity and cohesion in the society at large.
He said:
“Once a Temple or place of worship becomes resourceful, its Management
should heartily take up societal causes meant to cultivate values and virtues
in the people, and improve the quality of life. The earlier this truth is
realized the better. To draw a line between religious life and secular life is
fundamentally wrong, disharmonious. Whether associated with Temples or not,
any religious pursuit is focussed on the mind and intelligence and has the
sole aim of enriching them with greater confidence, creativity and prudence to
take up the day to day activities, interactions and challenges.”
