5th Annual Sreemad Bhaagavata Tattva Sameeksha Satram will be held from
20th to 31st December 2006 at Naimishaaranyam, Paralikad, Thrissur. Unlike
last year, the number of days has been increased to 12, as in the first three
years, fulfilling the aspiration of listeners and devotees.
The
Jnaana Satram, enriching the mind and heart of the listeners, is fondly looked
for by thousands of men and women. Sreemad Bhaagavatam declares that the
knowledge of the Supreme Truth is the only means to deliver human mind from
the plights of taapa-trayam – the three-fold afflictions of worldly
life.
Over 50
distinguished exponents – Sannyaasins and Sreemad Bhaagavata Scholars –
will be speaking on the various themes of this holy spiritual text. It is a
rare fortune to have so many exponents come to the same platform and discuss
the great Text with the sole objective of making the ageless spiritual values
of the land, the warp and woof of the daily life.
Sri
Krishna Yaatraa from Guruvayur, Dharma Dhvaja Yaatraa from
Tiruvilvamalai and Sreemad
Bhaagavata Grantha Yaatraa from
Narayanashrama Tapovanam are some of the pre-Satram events aimed at generating
public awareness about Sreemad Bhaagavatam and the great cultural heritage of
the land. Welcomed en route with bhojana-dravya-samarpanam (offering of
materials for anna-daana),
these Yaatraas will announce the holy event to a large cross section of
people. Sreemad Bhaagavata Dharma Yaatraa in and around Paralikad
Naimishaaranyam will also be conducted.
Inauguration
of the Satram on 20th December will be marked by a “Heritage procession”
with Sreemad Bhaagavata Ratham and Sannyaasins leading the devotees and lovers
of dharma. On reaching Naimisharanyam Satrashaala, Sannyaasins will be
received with Poorna Kumbham and, with Bhaagavata-dhvaja hoisted,
led to the Pandal with traditional taalapoli. More than 4,000 people
are expected to assemble every day in Naimishaaranyam. Arrangements will be
made for giving anna-daana for all.
On the
concluding day, 31st December 2006, will be the benedictory Vishnu-sahasranaama
Saarvajanika Mahaayajna,
wherein over 1,000 people led by Sannyaasins will be collectively performing arcana
and havan.
