Daily Routine during a Retreat at Narayanashrama Tapovanam
 


DAILY ROUTINE

[This is a typical daily schedule during a retreat]

The Retreat provides ample opportunities for the devotees and seekers to be in close proximity with their Gurudev, to seek his blessings and clarify their doubts. The following section provides a glimpse of a typical day during the retreat:

Praarthana (Morning Prayers)

5:45 a.m.        

The day begins with the chanting of the Vishnusahasranaama and the Bhagavadgeeta, followed by an Aarati accompanied by mantras from the Upanishads in the sublime setting of the Samadhi Mandir.

Pushpa Samarpanam &  Prabhaata-rasmih

6:40 a.m.

The pushpasamarpanam (flower-offering) at the feet of Poojya Swamiji, accompanied by soul-full chorus chanting of profound slokas on Guru-tatva is a purifying and inspiring spell in the serene morning hours.

Followed by the pushpasamarpanam, Poojya Swamiji's profound words on saadhana, like the  effulgent morning rays (Prabhaata-rashmih), illuminate many a dark corner in the listeners' minds. 

Discourse on Kathopanishad

9:15 a.m.

These discourses on the Upanishad, offer deep insights into how the sashtras are to be correctly interpreted to intensify our daily saadhana to bring joy and fulfillment to our daily life.

Sevaa with Yoga-attitude

10:30 a.m.

All the devotees joyfully participate in different areas of service in the Ashram, while themselves feeling inspired, benefited and blessed in the process.

Bhojana Pavitreekaranam

11:50 a.m.

In this very sublime event, Poojya Swamiji divinizes the food to be served during the meal and takes a sankalpa that the food consumed contribute to the physical and mental health of all those who partake of the prasada.

Discourse on Bhagavadgeeta                               

4:45 - 5:45 p.m.

The main focus of the discourses at the Ashram is how to realize and harness one's Inner Resources for Interactional Enrichment.

Praarthana (Evening Prayers)

6:30 p.m.

Shlokas set to soulful tunes by Maa Gurupriyaji and Swami Nirviseshananda Tirthaji are chanted to create an atmosphere for introspection and meditation.

Bhojana Pavitreekaranam

7:20 p.m.

 

Satsang with Poojya Swamiji

8:45 - 9:30 p.m.

During these sessions, Poojya Swamiji touches upon a wide variety of topics relating to spirituality. Satsangs offer an excellent opportunity for seekers to clarify their doubts in the path of their saadhana.
