Section 2.
Not
just Satram, but Tattva Sameeksha Satram
Annakshetra in
Paralikad, founded by Hind Navotthana Pratishtan, to
feed 20 indigent villagers both times daily, hosted
the Satram
planning meetings.
Bhoomanandaji Maharaj stunned one and all at
the meeting when he spelled out the programme
outline and outlay. The Satram
would verily be a Tattva-sameeksha
(a study of the essence), and the
infrastructure envisaged involved a setup at the
cost of Rs.25 lakhs!
God
and Devotion the sole strength
“Where
would the resources come from?” was the unvoiced
question. “Once the decision is made, we shall go
ahead”, said Swamiji, adding, “the sole
strength for the mega event would be Bhagavan
and Bhakti,
nothing and none besides”.
The words, though alarming, rewarded the
audience with the requisite wish and will for the
mission. Thus were unleashed the tireless
preparations for the first Srimad
Bhagavata Tattva Sameeksha Satram, which Purushothama Swamiji Maharaj wished
to be a yearly event!
The idea was ratified by the other Swamiji
Maharaj, and the Committee, unanimously!
Central
Satram
Committee
All
physical arrangements were ushered in by Vyasa
Tapovanam and Paralikad teams of Purushothama
Swamiji. The writing and other organizational onus
rested with Narayanashrama Tapovanam raising the
lingering question: which exceeds which!
Shri.
PV Narayanan, a Marine Engineer, and Prof. PS
Padmanabhanan, a conceptual expert, with Shri.
Shankunikuttan Master, a language Teacher Scholar
together with Swamiji, Vijayakumarji, a qualified
Finance Expert who had served for long in UK and
Middle East constituted the Central Committee of the
Srimad Bhagavata Tattva Sameeksha
Satram.
And both Swamijis as Rakshaadhikaarees
held the umbrella of Protection for them.
Bhoomananda Swamiji was additionally the President
of the whole affair.
Enlisting
Scholars, setting their minds for Tattva
Sameeksha
To
enlist over 60 odd Scholar-speakers and to structure
the 12-day programme was the initial thoughtful
phase, which Shri. Narayanan and others did under
the guidance of Prof. Vaidyalinga Sharma of Thiroor.
To let the incumbents know about the special nature,
style and standard of the Satram,
Bhoomananda Swamiji Maharaj himself prepared the
invitation to the speakers.
The recipient Scholars got the inkling of the
Mega event. Each
responded heartily, indicating the time and subject
acceptable to each.
To
give Satram
the true status of Tattva
Sameeksha, making it different from a
similar event anywhere else was the real task.
For Bhoomananda Tirthaji Maharaj was
particular that only if the Scholars would delve
into the Scriptural verses, unearthing their depth,
loftiness and message, the overall purpose would be
served properly.
Otherwise, the event could turn out to be a
mere extended Dvadashaaham
(12-day event) in place of Saptaaham!
Expectations
were, but their fulfilment rested with a variety of
Speakers, who had their wont and limitations as well
as predilections!
Promise and encouragement were indeed there,
but how to ensure their fulfilment?
The
magic hatched beforehand
Bhoomananda
Tirthaji Maharaj’s pen, like his tongue, had to
hatch the magic, right beforehand. Swamiji, himself
a Bhagavata
exponent, though not of Saptaaham,
selected over 50 verses from all skandhas.
Outlining the great theme of the Holy Text in
his own charming style and substance, Swamiji sent a
letter to each selected Speaker, sharing what he
felt to be the core message of the ascetic Bhagavata
Author. It was a profound meandering through the
18000 verse Sanskrit narration, the immortal gift of
Vyasadeva to humanity of all times.
Though
none replied, it must
have delved into the hearts and brain of the array
of Speakers to adorn the Tattva Sameeksha Platform.
The message that the lectures should bring
forth the truths, values, message and goals set by
the Immortal Poet himself, became quite clear to the
expected listeners as well as speakers.
Tattva
Sameeksha Satram, not Satram,
were the resounding words in Paralikad sky.
Banners,
posters, notices, letters, invitations, meetings,
messages, messengers, telephone calls, tele-discussions
– every single medium was in full employ by the
two Tapovanams, the two spiritual Trusts headed by
veteran Sanyasins
that sponsored the event, assisted by many lovers
and devotees from far and near.
