Section 8.
Were
God and Devotion evident?
A question? Did God and Devotion work their ways?
At any time, did either lack or remain
hidden? What of the huge outlay needed and
contemplated? How
did the invisible Power become manifest? And through
whom?
The
event, its standard, style and glorious conclusion
itself form the conclusive answer.
Of
the expended Rupees 25 lakhs, the donations totalled
22 lakhs, leaving a deficit 3 lakhs in the end.
Offerings in the Satrashala including ceremonial items amounted to 3.5 lakhs.
The rest 19.5 lakhs came in from Vyasa
Tapovanam and Narayanashrama Tapovanam devotees,
seekers, lovers and well wishers the world over.
Though
living in untold distances, being informed of the
benedictory holy event, their hearts gleamed, hands
and legs swung to share in the great holy event.
In trickles and showers the downpour reached
the twin Ashrams
in central Kerala to wipe away the deficit!
It
was the most gratifying part of the whole event.
To conduct a Satram
of this magnitude in a village centre will no doubt
be a huge burden for the villagers and Organizers
alike. Nonetheless
the less resourceful village folk need the exposure
far more than do their urban counterpart. India
is rural first and last.
Unless leaders and thinkers come from
there, the country’s growth and advancement will
not be reflecting amply the majority needs.
The world is huge, its denizens
assorted. Society
is endless and needs multiple contributions from
several quarters.
Any contribution from anywhere to any degree
to the huge society will still be a full-fledged one
indeed. None
need be egoistic about doing any service to the
society as a whole.
No single person or service will be ample.
Society always calls for service from one and
all. When your heart or mind responds, take up the
mission and fulfil it to your best. This alone is
needed and that will be sufficient, fulfilling too.
Srimad Bhagavata Tattva Sameeksha
Satram is
not just a religious event.
Neither is it just a knowledge event.
Far from both, it is an auspicious,
invaluable, spirituo-social event, where the public
is invited openly, heartily and warmly to be feasted
by the glory of humanhood. The hidden potentials of
the mind and intelligence, the magnificence of the
core personality, the Soul, which holds the
infinitude and affluence we look for, is also
revealed in ample measure.
In the process, life is analysed, evaluated,
its afflictions and hazards examined and redress
evolved every time.
Thus
it is an exposural event aimed at imbuing values and
insight into people, which in turn will adorn and
enrich their home, children, society around and
coming generations. Our Satram has no doubt meant a great inauguration in this value
cultivating mammoth programme.
The watchword to make the Srimad
Bhagavata
value and message the warp and woof of the society
was heard, felt and shared in by hundreds, thousands
and now their multiples too!
